Shatterproof Glass: A diary of heartache and ressurection
Shatterproof Glass is a body of work made up of self-portraits and accompanying-writing, created during a period of profound personal upheaval and reconstruction. Following a suicide attempt, heartbreak, and an emotional rupture, the project is autobiographical and diary-like, following a journey of putting myself back together.
This work was a way of letting go of so much of the shame I carried for feeling things so deeply, for being neurodivergent, and struggling with my mental health.
With over 70 original photographs, this is by far the most vulnerable work I’ve created. It marks a turning point in my creative work where I began creating and sharing on a much more deeply raw personal level. It aims to speak to anyone who also feels things in a big way, who’s been told they’re too much, and who may feel alone with this heaviness, as I have learnt it is a gift to be able to feel and experience life this way, even when it might feel like a curse.
See below for a preview of this project.
Shatterproof Glass was first exhibited in November 2025 at Brighton Art Space 2, Brighton.
